Answer: This is a benign angioma, treated with intense pulsed light to give complete resolution. Other options would include laser or (less satisfactory) electrocautery.

We asked: how would you advise a client asking you about this bruise developing on the arm over the last 3 months ?
Answer: This is NOT a bruise – the history is a little unusual; the lesion is raised off the skin; the colour is rather dark; the thing just looks “wrong”; this was a melanoma – the correct advice is to take and urgent Specialist Doctor opinion or as a minimum get to the GP rapidly
